Things are heating up this summer and Reno is coming alive! After the last couple of summers limiting activities due to Covid or smoke, we think this year will be a summer to remember. With so many things to choose from, we’ve narrowed it down to our top picks for the summer!
Artown
Every year the Artown directors manage to coordinate Reno’s finest artists, event planners and local vendors to have them participate in a month-long event! With SO many activities to choose from it can be overwhelming to select which one you want to go to. Click here to check their calendar and read below for our recommendations!
The Art Of Fashion At The Elm Estate
Located at Reno’s hidden gem, The Elm Estate, The Art Of Fashion has Reno’s most stylish Vendors every Thursday throughout July. With each night having a different theme you can dress up, come shop, watch the catwalk, eat from the food trucks and get some of The Elm Estates’ delicious cocktails. Christmas In July
This awesome free event hosted by Artown can involve the whole family and get you in the… Christmas spirit..? Friday, July 22nd go check out the Movies in the Park with a special screening of A Christmas Story! Bring your family, bring your friends, get cozy and enjoy a warm Christmas movie!

Wine & Whiskey Wednesdays
Looking for a midweek pick-me-up? Get yourself down to The Elm Estate for a hump day treat! Happy Hour between 5-6 pm come and enjoy a cool evening on the beautiful property. Games on the lawn, food trucks, and drinks flowing! It’s a great opportunity to tour the site. Maybe even picture an event you are thinking about having there? Click here for more information.
Food Truck Fridays
Running right through till the end of August, you have to add Food Truck Friday to your must-do list in Reno! With over 40 food trucks attending each week, you’ll be spoilt for choice and you’ll keep wanting to come back for more! To check out their latest weekly updates click here.
Escape The Heat
With all these activities planned in the evening, you might be wondering what you can do in the daytime to escape the heat! Reno is a great location to set as a base and take day trips to the choice of surrounding lakes! Of course most popular in the summer is Lake Tahoe, a 45-minute drive from Reno. if you’re looking for a slightly smaller and less crowded place, there’s Donner Lake, just a 35-minute drive from Reno.
Top tip: Book your stay at the River West Resort cottages to get the most out of your time in Reno. It’s also a great hidden spot for a little staycation!
