There is a lot to consider when looking at venues and you’re going to have so many questions that you’re going to want to ask to ensure that the day is as you picture it for you and your partner. You want to be able to have a space that is going to accommodate your guest list, inspire you and be true to your personalities.

Once you start looking, you’re going to see them everywhere. When you’re out and about you may spot a location you want to know more about. Look them up online, check out their reviews and stalk them on social media! That will tell you a lot about whether you think this is a property worth exploring for your big day!
Reaching Out To Wedding Venues
Whether you are just browsing or you already have a set location in mind, it’s always worth reaching out to a few. Get a feel of what that initial conversation is like. Can you see this place accommodating to your wants and needs? Were they warm and welcoming? Of course, consider the timing of your conversation. Likelihood that you are the only couple looking at this venue for that particular weekend is slim. If you can schedule an onsite tour, do it as soon as possible. Also look out for open days that venues have. These are a great way to explore the property, meet vendors and really have an opportunity to envision how your day could look on that property. Questions To Ask Before Booking Your Wedding Venue

- How much is the deposit?
- Do you work with certain vendors?
- What is your cancellation policy?
- How many hours are included in the rental?
- Will the venue help you set up?
- If it’s an outdoor venue..do they have a weather plan B?
- Can you get ready on site?
- Is there parking on site?
- Can guests stay on site?
BUDGET TIP
Venue pricing can vary between seasons and days of the week. If the initial date you were quoted seems like too much of a pinch, but you’re in love with the venue.. Ask for their rates on different days of the week. It might mean that having your wedding on a Thursday can make your dream location a reality and you can figure out the rest from there!
CONTRACTS
Great! You’ve decided on a venue! Now what? Do not be surprised when your venue pulls out a contract and asks you to sign on the dotted line! This is beneficial to both parties and it will ensure that if anything does come up… then it has all been understood beforehand how the property would be expected to handle it!
